Djamarat Bridge is a bridge with a great ceremonial significance in valley of Mina, near the city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia . Djamarat Bridge is used at the symbolic Muslim ritual of stoning of the devil.

About the Djamarat Bridge

The Djamarat Bridge lies on a major pilgrimage route to the city of Mecca . In 1963 the first bridge was constructed, and it has been several times extended over the years. Until 2006, there was only one storey. The major reconstruction was finished in 2007 when a new three-storey bridge was completed. Today the Djamarat Bridge has three pillars, ramps and escape tunnels. The new construction allows stoning of all three pillars from the ground or from the bridge in the time of the ritual. Up to 300,000 believers can stand on the bridge at the same time
