The Deutsches Marinemuseum was founded in 1998. It offers both indoor and outdoor exhibitions. The museum presents the development of German Navy from 1848 to the present times. You can look at various uniforms, ship bells, flags, models of German naval ships, etc. The outdoor part shows real ships. There is, for example, a submarine Class-205, a torpedo destroyer Mölders, a small torpedo boat Libelle-Klasse, a variety of marine engines, torpedoes, etc. There are lots of temporary exhibitions in the Deutsches Marinemuseum. The museum offers lectures, too.
Every year, over 100, 000 people visit the Deutsches Marinemuseum. The museum is open from April to October from 10 to 18, from November to March from 10 to 17. Tickets are € 8.50 for adults and € 5 for children (6-14 years) . Family ticket costs € 20.
