Coventry is a world-famous British city. It is located in the central part of England (West Midlands), about 30 km (19mi) from the city Birmingham and its population gets close to around 310,000.

Coventry is known mainly in connection with the Second World War when, as an armaments centre, it was a prime target for German bombing attacks. In 1940 the medieval cathedral in Coventry was hit. It was replaced by a newly built cathedral designed by Sir Basil Spence (1907 - 76). History lovers can visit the Herbert Gallery and Museum which has displays on the 11th century legend of Lady Godiva. Other interesting tourist destinations are the Kenilworth Castle and the Warwick Castle where you can learn about the history of the region much more.
