The park consists of forests high in the mountains of the Andes and many protected species of fauna and flora live in it, some of them are even endemic. Chingaza Natural Park is a home to pumas, jaguars, toucans, Spectacled Bears and ocelots. Gems of flora include eight species of sphagnum and a rare espeletia.
