Cheile Turzii is one of the most massive karst gorges in Romania . It is located in the western Romanian Carpathians, in the Apuseni Mountains, about 8 km from the city Turda . The Cheile Turzii was created by erosion of the stream called Hasdate. The rock walls the in Cheile Turzii are up to 300m high but the bottom of the gorge is only a few meters wide. There are lots of cavern, rock arches, rock windows and rock gates or tunnels within the gorge .
