The cathedral was built in the 13th century in the Gothic style on the order of Archbishop of Reims, who wanted to build a cathedral which would reflect the significance of important events, such as coronation of French kings. The cathedral is a masterpiece of French Gothic style. The cathedral is unique for its sculptures. Another interesting feature is an astronomical clock from the 15th century in the northern lateral nave of the cathedral. You can admire two processions of statues every hour. Cathedral Notre Dame Reims, along with two adjacent sacral buildings, has been inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1991.
