Castel Thun is a beautiful castle in Italy . It is located in the area of Trentino, in the valley called Val di Non, near the town of Ton. After nearly 20 years, on 17th April 2010 it was open for the public hence Trentino is proud of another tourist attraction. About the castle
Castel Thun was built in the middle of the 13th century and it was used as a noble residence by the Italian branch of the Thuns for many centuries. However, at the beginning of the 20th century they were forced to sell the castle to the Czech branch of the Thuns of Děčín . They did not have enough money to keep it for a long time and reconstruct it so they sold it too. Castel Thun is a combination of a civil and a military building.
