Tourist information and destination rating

Category: Cities, Local time: 12:40:13, Official WWW website:

Cardiff (Caerdydd) is Wales' capital and an extremely attractive tourist destination in the UK. It is situated approx. 210 km (131mi) from London. Unique attractions, top class entertainment and pleasant shopping - and all that is available within walking distance! Cardiff is a city with two faces, actually. The first is the centre with Victorian and Edwardian architecture and gardens and the second is the area around the neo-gothic Castle and market. Among many attractions in the area is the National Techniquest (science museum). The Welsh Industrial Maritime Museum and the wooden Norwegian Church on Waterfront Park, as well as the Museum of Welsh Life and Llandaff Cathedral are worth the attention, too. Children visitors won't be disappointed if you take them to Tropiquaria. In winter, the region of Cardiff offers good conditions for skiing and snowboarding.
