Buffalo is a city in the USA . It is the second largest city of the state New York. It lies upon the eastern shore of Lake Erie, about 27 km from the Niagara Falls . Buffalo is a convenient starting point for taking walks around the lake and visiting the world-famous waterfalls.

About Buffalo

The history of the city began in the 19th century. Its importance of the city Buffalo quickly grew after 1825, when the Erie Canal was constructed and the city became a strategic traffic junction. Due to the canal and the transport, the trade in the area grew significantly, and consequently the number of the city's inhabitants increased. Buffalo officially became a city in 1832, when the number of its inhabitants exceeded 10,000 people. Today's Buffalo is a modern city with many skyscrapers. Sometimes, its center full of skyscrapers is called the miniature of Manhattan in New York .
