The Botanical Garden Powsin offers the visitors huge collections of flora, both from Poland and from abroad, too. The exposition is situated in marvellous landscape with very pleasant atmosphere. The exhibits are installed in several pavilions by themes. The collections include 700 species of orchard plants, 200 species of vegetable and about 300 species of medicinal plants and spices. The Polish flora pavilion comprises several parts and offers approximately 620 plant families. The arboretum offers some 2229 exhibits, mainly trees, bushes, heath and magnolia.
The exposition of tropical and subtropical vegetation is very interesting as it includes approximately 1750 plant families. It is divided in five sections. A part of the exposition is found in green-houses. Another - also very interesting - pavilion presents a collection of decorative vegetation: some 1040 species of perennial, 855 types of iris and bulbous plants, and also 590 species of rose. In addition, you can admire, for example, citrus, geranium, lentisk, rhododendron, magnolia, vanilla tree, thuja, begonia, and many others.
The Botanical Garden Powsin has excellent results in numerous scientific activities and organizes educational and entertaining events focused on botany and biology.
The Botanical Garden Powsin is located in Prawdziwka 2 Street. The gardens are open around the year. In January: weekends from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. February: weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., March: weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. From 29th March to the end of April: every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., May and June: weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekends: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. July to October: every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., November and December: from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission: 6 PLN (weekdays) , 8 PLN (weekends) , 5 PLN (in winter) , for adults. Reduced admission fee: 4 PLN (weekdays) , 5 PLN (weekends) , 3 PLN (in winter) .
