The Bochnia Salt Mine is one of the most exciting underground tourist trails. It is led about 200 meters below the surface- the temperature there is 14 - 16° C and the humidity reaches up to 70%. The part accessible for tourists includes the most beautiful and intriguing tunnels. The underground area comprises chambers of characteristic shape and geological structure. There is an exposition featuring old mining tools and machines and a chapel with beautiful statues and paintings. One of the most interesting parts is the truly unique passage 230 metres below the ground level. The underground tour includes a visit to the wooden chapel, where an exposition of cultural and religious heritage is kept. There is an altar and marvellous statues made of salt. There are both permanent and temporary expositions in the Bochnia Salt Mine.
The tourist complex Bochnia Salt Mine includes a salt spa, a hotel, a restaurant, a recreational centre and a baseball hall. Admission fee: Galleries I, II, III, XI and XII - PLN 24 (adults) , reduced fee - PLN 19 Galleries IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X - PLN 32 (adults) , reduced fee - PLN 24.
