Batadombalena

Batadombalena is an archaeological site in Sri Lanka . It lies on the southwest, 85 km southeast of Colombo . Batadombalena includes several caves of great historical significance. The archaeological excavations have revealed the skeletal remains of the Balangoda Man, stone tools, as well as carefully trimmed fragments of jewellery of shells and ostrich egg shells. The archaeologists were thus able to prove the close connection and cooperation of African and Indian cultures. Therefore, Batadombalena is one of the most important archaeological discoveries in the world.
