Barzan Towers

The Barzan Towers had originally served as an observatory and as watchtowers for pearl divers. They can be found near the city of Doha , Qatar . They are two towers built in a unique architectural style of the Persian Gulf region. The Barzan Towers have rectangular floor plans. They have three levels and an external staircase. Inside the Barzan Towers is an entrance hall and a mosque with a prayer room. The buildings were equipped with a sophisticated wooden canal system for draining water during heavy rains. They were built in the 19th century. The Barzan Towers have been completely renovated.
