Look into the History
Aqueduct Segovia was probably constructed after the plans of a Roman scholar Vitruvius (80 – 15 BC) . The construction process happened sometime in the second half of the 1st century.
Aqueduct Segovia was a part of a path 17 kilometers long that brought water to the city from the river Fuenfria. No mortar was used in the construction (just like in other Roman buildings) , only metal clamps holding the granite blocks together. These blocks formed an aqueduct 28.5 high and 782 m long.
