The Aquarium of the Bay consists of three separate- but still closely connected exhibitions- that present the unbelievably diverse wildlife in the San Francisco Bay. First, the visitors can explore the fascinating ecosystem of the bay in the exhibition called Discover the Bay, which presents e.g. rays or the colorful garibaldi fish. After that, the visitors can admire the marine wildlife of the bay in all its beauty as they walk through the two glass tunnels. The exhibition called Under the Bay enables to get in close proximity to shoals of anchovies, basses, and the biggest attraction- sharks (there are about 50 of them in the aquarium) . In the last exhibition, called Touch the Bay, visitors can get to know personally some of the animals- you can touch a ray or a shark. The Aquarium of the Bay, opened all year round, is situated on the edge of Pier 39 and is easily accessible by public transport.
